Whole Applesauce

Heat Oven To 350°

Ingredients:

5      Braeburn Apples, or other
1/2  Cup Water
1     Tbs. Honey or Agave, optional

Cut apple in half and remove core.

There are many ways to remove the core such as scoops, apple corers, spoons, & small knifes.

Discard the core.

Place apples and water into a baking dish.

Cover dish with foil and place into oven.

Bake 30-60 minutes, depending on the apple.

Check apples after thirty minutes.

Some varieties of apples will be ready and some take twice as long or even longer.

If they are not ready, cover and place back into the oven.

Check every 15 minutes.

The apples are ready when they are very soft and will crumble when you squeeze them.

Place apples into a bowl and mash as you would potatoes.

Some apples will be dry enough to absorb all of the water in the dish.

Some will be watery and my only need some or no liquid.

Taste the mashed apples and decide if you want to add the sweetener.

Serve warm or cold.

Applesauce will last a few days in the fridge.
