New Taste Thinking:

Grocery stores and farmers markets here in California are offering a new crop of blueberries. The quality, flavor and price make these berries irresistible. This is the best time of year to fill the freezer. The best way to freeze blueberries is to wash them in cold water and let them drain in a colander for about an hour. Next place the berries on a large plate, as seen in photo, or sheet pan. Place berries into the freezer for few hours and they will freeze. Remove the plate from the freezer and break the berries apart with a small spatula. Place the frozen berries into a container or freezer bag and place back in the freezer.

Frozen berries are great for baking
muffins. My favorite snack is a big bowl of frozen berries.
