New Taste Thinking:
This is a super easy way to make rice. The technique is referred to as the pasta method because it is just like boiling and straining noodles. Also like cooking pasta, more ingredients are tossed into the rice after cooking.
The other way to cook rice is the absorption method. It is based on a perfect ratio of liquid to rice. When all the liquid has been absorbed the rice should be ready. Both styles will get the job done.
I enjoy the pasta method more because the rice is never gummy or sticky. The only downside is that some of the nutrition may be discarded in the water.
