Note: If at all possible you should weigh the kale after cleaning and drying. The recipe works best with 3 ounces of clean kale.
Wash kale at least 2 times.
Check the water for any dirt or sand.
If you still see any dirt after the second wash you need to wash it for a third time.
Spin dry to remove all of the water.
Place clean kale into a mixing bowl.
Add all other ingredients.
Toss well by hand.
Toss a number of times to make sure all ingredients are dispersed evenly over all of the kale.
Place a sheet of foil onto a sheet pan.
Place the kale into one even layer on the pan.
Place pan on middle rack in oven.
Bake Kale for 15 minutes.
Remove pan from oven and let kale cool on pan.
The kale will darken and shrink during the cooking process.
Notice the difference between this photo and the one above.
This is a before and after shot of the same kale.
New Taste Thinking:
This recipe is great for snacking. The flavors work quite well together. I would recommend that you give it a try even if it seems a little strange. The only downside is that it is high in sodium, so if you have an issue with salt you may want to pass.
