Whole Grain · Whole Food · Big Flavors
1 Shallot, or 1/2 of a very large one
1 Clove Garlic
1/4 Ounce Ginger, peeled
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
1 Tablespoon Harissa Paste
1 Box Pomi Tomatoes, about 25 ounces or a 28 ounce can of chopped tomatoes
1/2 teaspoon Ground Cumin, Coriander, Cinnamon and Salt
1 Pinch Saffron
Peel and rough chop garlic, shallot and ginger.
Chop ingredients fine by hand or in a food processor.
Add oil to a large pot.
Add chopped garlic, shallot and ginger.
Gently cook and stir over medium heat for a few minutes.
Add tomatoes to the pot.
Squeeze out harissa pasta and mix into the tomatoes.
Add spices to the pot.
Gently simmer and stir ingredients for 15 minutes.
You can cover the pot if you like.
Let sauce cool for a few minutes.
Puree sauce in blender of food processor.
